LFCDS technology tools have been chosen to safely facilitate learning and connection between students, their teachers, and their peers. Whether in Virtual Attendance, on-campus, or during remote learning, the tools serve the same purpose allowing for a seamless transition between learning modalities.

Access

Managed secured devices for students in 2020-2021 include the new Microsoft Surface Pro 7 for students in Grades 5 through 8, Dell laptops for students in Grade 4, and iPads for students in Senior Kindergarten through Grade 3.

Internet service

LFCDS has increased bandwidth on campus, including upgrading campus-wide WIFI. While learning at home, students will connect to their learning via home networks. Students requiring assistance with network access should email it.support@lfcds.org

Virtual Learning Environments

Students daily activities will be organized and launched from virtual "home bases", where they will also be able to communicate with teachers and classmates and share class resources. Students in Grades 4 through 8 will utilize Google Classroom, while students in Preschool through Grade 3 will utilize Seesaw.

Content + Document Organizer

This is where LFCDS will store, share, and collaborate on files for students and faculty. Grades 4 through 8 will utilize Google Drive and students in Preschool through Grade 2 will use Seesaw.

Live connection

As our teachers are driven by the relationships they build with their students, having a virtual platform that can support live connections with students is an important element of our delivery system. LFCDS will utilize Zoom for live video and and text/media chatting.
